Women Building Sustainable Peace

Funded by The Forum for Women and Development (FOKUS). Objectives: To enable women from Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim communities to influence the transitional justice (TJ), peace building and reconciliation process in Sri Lanka to be gender sensitive Results: A total of 233 NGO and key state MHPSS service providers were capacitated on provision of psychosocial services in relation to the TJ process through 10 training programs, provided direct psychosocial services and accompaniment to 73 women participating in TJ processes, 36 Women who seek redress are referred to organisations specialized in areas such as legal aid, human rights and other relevant support services. 6 Community-level psycho-education activities related to MHPSS issues, TJ and available services, 23 female CVs were trained through 1 regional training program and 5 district level orientation sessions, 23 CVs and 48 GRLAC members were strengthened through 40 GRLAC and 17 CV meetings to support women and to identify the clients for psychosocial support services
